Overall I’m very happy with my experience at Seneca, I had the opportunity to dive into many different disciplines and find out what I want to focus on. The program provided me great structure on my training routine, with knowledge on how to train properly for what I want to achieve. The teachers were mostly very knowledgeable and nice, with some of them training us throughout the whole year and some others being there only temporarily. I personally enjoyed training in different spaces, but I can also see how people dislike that. Our group consists of people from different backgrounds, levels and ages which made the experience quite diverse. For sure there‘s some things to be improved in management and organisation, but you can give input and feedback and also voice your wishes of what classes you would like to have. I would have liked some more regular input on creation, because most of the time is focused on physical training. We had one group showing in December and one show in July that we had more time to prepare and work on. In May we had a residency at Schloss Bröllin with the whole group which was super nice. The whole program definitely gave me direction and made me realise that I really wanna continue doing circus. Now my next perspective is to apply to other circus schools and keep training. Some of our group were already accepted into other schools but some also won‘t continue with circus as their main focus in life. I think the program can fit for different kinds of people and is also rather low commitment compared to a 2 year prep-school, but after finishing the first year I would actually like to do a second one.
