The Altrefrontiere International Dance Festival is a unique event that aims to showcase a variety of energies within the international dance community. The festival is dedicated to the exploration of different methods of investigation in dance, fostering knowledge and exchange as essential tools for personal growth.

FRICTION EDITION 2026

The seventh edition of Altrefrontiere, themed 'Friction', will take place from July 19 to August 1, 2026. This year's theme explores the concepts of tension, contrast, and transformation, likening friction to the process of generating rhythm and igniting creativity. The festival encourages participants to embrace change and direction in their artistic journeys, highlighting the transformative power of dance.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Altrefrontiere was established in 2019 in Rome through a collaboration between White Cloud Studio Roma, White Cloud Opera, and D.M.A. Teatrodanza. Since 2021, it has been hosted at Agriturismo Podere 153, a serene location in Maremma, Tuscany, providing an ideal environment for dancers from around the world to gather and engage in contemporary dance. The festival spans two weeks and includes a variety of activities such as technique classes, improvisation and composition workshops, and public performances featuring internationally renowned artists.

The festival welcomes dancers of all levels and backgrounds, fostering a sense of community and exchange amidst the beauty of nature.
