Associate Artist 2026–2028 — Bristol Old Vic

Overview

Bristol Old Vic is recruiting a new Associate Artist for a two-year programme running July 2026 to June 2028. The Associate Artist scheme builds meaningful, long-term relationships with artists local to Bristol Old Vic.

What's provided

• £10,000 bursary over two years (£5,000 per year)
• Year one: engage closely with Bristol Old Vic's creative functions — literary, programming, producing, engagement and artist support
• Year two: focus on the artist's own practice and artistic development, with Bristol Old Vic supporting a personalised programme of activity

Eligibility

• Currently residing in the South West (per Arts Council England boundaries)
• Professional theatre sector background with demonstrated experience
• Artists whose primary practice is not writing are particularly encouraged
• Applications especially welcomed from artists whose voices and experiences have historically been underrepresented or marginalised on UK stages
