Associate Programs
The National College of Dance offers skilled Associate Programs for dancers aged 11-16, focusing on classical ballet and contemporary/commercial dance. These programs aim to enhance skills, gain versatility, build confidence, and provide training from industry professionals.
Curriculum
Classical Associate Program
- Comprehensive ballet training with a focus on technique, strength, and precision.
- Exploration of classical ballet repertoire and variations.
- Introduction to neo-classical styles and somatic workouts for injury prevention.
Contemporary/Commercial Associate Program
- Covers diverse styles including contemporary, lyrical, jazz, and fusion.
- Learning cutting-edge choreography from leading choreographers.
- Emphasis on creative exploration and somatic awareness.
Schedule
- Two full days of intensive training per term (week 4 and week 8).
- Two three-day holiday workshops (Term 1 and Term 3).
- Participation in the Newcastle Summer Dance Intensive.
Who it's for
- Dancers aged 11-16 who are passionate about dance and eager to improve their skills.
Audition
- Applications are open for both Classical and Contemporary/Commercial Associate Programs. Interested dancers can request an audition.
