About this opportunity
The Beta Publica XIII International Choreographic Showcase aims to enhance the creative force surrounding contemporary dance while increasing audience awareness of the creative process. This event fosters a continuous on and off-line meeting space for creating, provoking, connecting, discovering, testing, experimenting, sharing, and supporting. The showcase invites audiences, choreographers, dancers, cultural programmers, media, producers, and other participants to be physically and virtually present in the creative processes of selected pieces, leading to new reflections and perspectives that enrich the creative process.
The XIII Edition will take place at the C.C. Paco Rabal in the Community of Madrid on September 5, 2026, at 19:00. A maximum of six pieces from Madrid-based, national, and international creators will be presented during this event.
The application process is conducted through the Beta Publica website and their Instagram profile, which facilitates voting for the creative proposals preferred by their followers. The application period opens at 23:59 on May 15, 2026, and closes at 23:59 on June 14, 2026. The International Choreographic Showcase is not a competition but an integrated project supporting choreographic creation, meaning there are no prizes. A maximum of six choreographies will be selected from the submitted applications. Each choreography will be presented on both days of the showcase. One choreography will be automatically selected based on votes from Beta Publica's followers on Instagram, provided it meets the artistic criteria of the showcase and is approved by the Selection Team. Voting will be open until 23:59 on June 17, 2026. The remaining pieces will be chosen by the Selection Team based on creative strength, originality, and maturity of the choreographic work, with a preference for world premieres and/or premieres in Spain.
