Carrera en Artes del Circo — UNTREF (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

Overview

The Circus Arts program at UNTREF aims to provide comprehensive training for professional artists in circus techniques. It employs production as a learning methodology, preparing artists to create high-quality artistic and technical performances. Students are trained to design and create spaces and situations within the various disciplines of circus representation. The program includes diverse complementary content to enrich training and enable artists to be versatile performers while developing their own creativity.

Curriculum

The curriculum is heavily focused on practical content, with a strong emphasis on artistic and technical excellence. The program spans approximately three and a half years, during which students engage in continuous practical training through the production of shows and artistic projects. The theoretical components cover artistic, historical-conceptual subjects, and high-performance physical training. The program includes the following subjects:

• First Year: Introduction to Circus Arts, Art History, Juggling I, Dance I, Acrobatics I, History of Circus, Functional Anatomy, Contemporary Culture, 20th Century History Issues, Introduction to Contemporary World Issues, Sociology, Economics, and Politics Issues.
• Second Year: Acrobatics II, Juggling II, Dance II, Rhythm, Music and Movement, Biomechanics, Principles of Aesthetics, Acrobatics III, Dance III, Acting I, Motor Behavior.
• Third Year: Acrobatics IV, Acting II, Voice Education, Health and Hygiene, Acting III, Complementary Scenic Techniques, Popular and Mass Culture.
• Fourth Year: Creation and Design of Work, Language I and II, Computer Science I and II, Integrated Practice (to be completed each semester).

Classes are held in the morning.

Who it's for

To enroll, candidates must have completed secondary education in any recognized public or private institution and meet the general admission requirements.

Language

The language of instruction is Spanish.
