Overview

The Diploma in Contemporary Circus and Physical Theatre at Circomedia is a privately funded, unaccredited program designed for individuals looking to deepen their practice in contemporary circus or physical theatre without the need for a formal qualification. This flexible course allows students to build their own training pathway, choosing from intensive blocks that cover various aspects of circus, physical theatre, movement, creativity, devising, and performance opportunities in diverse settings.

Curriculum

The Diploma consists of three blocks, each lasting three months:

• Block 1: Discipline - Skills classes in aerial, acrobatics, or juggling tailored to the student's current level. Options include lively group classes or one-to-one sessions.
• Block 2: Performance - Classes in physical theatre and movement technique, focusing on enhancing stage presence and confidence through intensive training.
• Block 3: Circus Making and Creative Project - Creative projects supported by mentorship, allowing students to respond to creative briefs or design their own projects.

Schedule

Students can choose to study for a full term (3 months) or a full year (9 months), with the option to return for further blocks as their practice develops. Classes are available five days a week, with access to training spaces from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

• All three blocks across the year: £9,450
