Preparatory Training

The Circus School of Lyon offers a preparatory training course for higher schools in circus arts, supported by the DRAC Auvergne Rhône-Alpes. This program has become an open space where students draw from circus, dance, and music to affirm their own artistic language. It provides a two-year training course aimed at preparing students for national and international circus school competitions while fostering the development of unique artistic personalities. The school's objective is to establish regular physical and artistic work and create strong connections between acting and the body.

Who it's for

The training is open to everyone aged between 17 and 23 years old. Applicants must have obtained a baccalaureate. Students will have student status and are therefore eligible for scholarships.

Cost

The program costs €500 per year.

Dates

The application form will be available starting December 18, 2025. The deadline for submitting applications is March 31, 2026. If selected, auditions will take place on June 29, 30, and July 1 and 2, 2026. Registration via the form can only be completed once, and candidates are encouraged to prepare all required documents in PDF format (cover letter, CV, ID card, medical certificate, etc.) along with an unlisted YouTube link to register in one go.

Audition Process

Documents to include with your application:

• Completed and signed ECL 26/28 certificate
• A recent passport-size photo
• A CV/resume
• A cover letter
• A medical certificate of ability for intensive circus arts practice (issued within the last 3 months) from your doctor
• One technical presentation video (2 minutes, including 1 minute without editing) to assess your technical level in your specialty
• One oral presentation video (2 minutes) to introduce yourself creatively.
