The Dance Program at CSSSA offers a pre-professional, collegiate-level curriculum for students aiming to pursue a college degree or professional career in dance. Participants engage in intensive training across various dance genres, including ballet, modern, contemporary, hip-hop, and ethnic dance studies. The program emphasizes technical skill development, creative choreographic processes, and includes workshops with guest artists, master classes, and field trips to dance events in the Los Angeles area. The four-week intensive culminates in a demonstration showcasing the works developed throughout the program.

Cost: Tuition for California residents is $5,174, while out-of-state and international students pay $10,475. All tuition payments are subject to a 2.99% transaction fee. For California residents, the tuition transaction fee is $155; for out-of-state and international students, it is $313.
Scholarships: Financial aid is available for California residents. CSSSA offers full and partial tuition scholarships to students who need assistance. To apply, complete the Financial Aid Form, which is part of the online application, and submit it by February 28 at 6:00 PM PST. Parents or guardians will need to upload their most recent tax documents (Form 1040) to the application portal. Applying for financial aid will not affect your chances of being accepted into CSSSA.
Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of two years of technical training in ballet, contemporary, or modern dance. The program is open to students currently enrolled in grades 8 through 12. Applicants should submit a completed online application, provide contact information for two teacher recommenders, and upload a dance bio/CV detailing their education and performance experience. Additionally, applicants must submit a video (not to exceed two minutes) that includes an introduction, a standing dance warm-up, and a performance or choreography piece.
